Linda Eanes-Life as a Trapper’s Wife

Life as a Trapper’s Wife
by
Linda Eanes

It couldn’t be any better. Up at dawn, fix a quick breakfast and lunch, check traps til dark. Fix a quick supper, sometimes just cereal and skin until I get tired. Then go to bed and start all over the next day. We did this every day from October 15 until February 29. Kent and I were together constantly but hardly ever fought, probably just too tire at the end of every day!

Kent was a true modern day mountain man and I would follow him through swamps, over snowy fields and through cold and rainy days. Nothing beats the life of a trapper’s wife except for the life of a trapper!
